#OSFest2022 Day 4 Exhibits, Stores, and more!

OSFest 2022 kickoff weekend was both a success and a lot of fun! We had 36 hours of powerhouse performances in every genre from poetry and prose to deep house and techno. Attendance was excellent with no one reporting any lag issues. Stages were reconfigured and improved on the fly by performers and grid management based on avatar feedback. Kudos to the performers and their organizers as well as the OSFest Team!

Livestreams of events were on YouTube courtesy of a volunteer and these were added to our official OSFest YouTube playlists at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLzAFoVpD-k7Dce6LvnWXxVedcJhyFEj-4. Our new custom streaming service simulcasted performer streams to all four event regions and the main parcels in the Welcome and HG-Welcome regions without issue. Next weekend we will simulcast the streams to the main parcels in other regions around the grid so that our visitors can enjoy weekend performances while shopping and visiting exhibits!

To help visitors get around the grid and know what's happening where, there are a number of things underway and visitors are starting to check everything out! We deployed a new OS aware integrated grid calendar both in-world and embedded in our website. We are in the process of deploying a fully integrated destination guide and teleport system so look for that in the coming days. There are already teleport boards that can be used to drill down to the parcel level in every region landing area. But you don't need to wait to get started!

Traditional methods can be used to get around the grid exploring everywhere like your viewer world map, opensimworld at https://opensimworld.com/user/OSFest, and landmarks. The fastest way to get your bearings right now is to join the public OSFest group by clicking on any of the pink group joiner objects. Not only can you ask questions in the group chat but it will give you a notecard with all of the OSFest landmarks and who is in what parcel. There are 164 parcels across 18 regions! Work is ongoing to get the destination guide finished and the parcels updated. Coming soon to a viewer near you - see you in the grid!
